Newbury Park, located in the western portion of the Conejo Valley, is a community within the city of Thousand Oaks known for its direct access to the Santa Monica Mountains and its deep historical roots.

Outdoor & Natural Landmarks

• Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa: This expansive recreation area offers panoramic views of Boney Mountain. It features the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center, which celebrates the heritage of the Chumash people who inhabited this area for thousands of years.
• Wildwood Regional Park: While technically in Thousand Oaks, it is easily accessed from Newbury Park. It is home to the iconic Paradise Falls, a 40-foot waterfall that is one of the region's most popular hiking destinations.
• Point Mugu State Park: Bordering the southern edge of Newbury Park, this park includes over 70 miles of trails, such as the Big Sycamore Canyon Hike, which leads all the way down to the Pacific Ocean.
• Borchard Community Park: A central hub for local recreation, featuring a skate park, sports fields, and a community center.

Cultural & Historical Sites

• Stagecoach Inn Museum: Originally built in 1876 as a hotel for the stagecoach line between Los Angeles and San Francisco, this California Historical Landmark now serves as a museum showcasing pioneer life and local history.
• Hope Nature Preserve: Named after legendary entertainer Bob Hope (who once owned much of the land), this preserve offers rugged trails and opportunities for wildlife viewing.

• Biotech Hub: Newbury Park is famously home to the global headquarters of Amgen, the world’s largest biotechnology firm, which has made the area a significant center for science and innovation.
• Rancho Conejo Industrial Park: This area houses several other high-tech and creative firms, including the BMW Designworks studio.
