Agoura Hills, often called the "Gateway to the Santa Monica Mountains," is a city that blends Hollywood history with some of the best outdoor recreation in Southern California.

Outdoor & Natural Landmarks

  • Cheeseboro and Palo Comado Canyons: This National Park Service site spans over 4,000 acres, offering a massive network of trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders through oak woodlands and grassy ridgelines.
  • Malibu Creek State Park: Located just south of the city, this is a "must-visit" for the Rock Pool (a popular swimming and rock-climbing spot) and the M*A*S*H Filming Site, where the iconic TV show was shot.
  • Ladyface Mountain: A local landmark known for its distinct profile. The Ladyface Trail is a short but steep hike that rewards you with 360-degree views of the Conejo Valley and the Pacific Ocean.

History & Film

  • Paramount Ranch: A historic "movie ranch" used since 1927. While it is still recovering from the 2018 Woolsey Fire, it remains a famous site for film buffs, having served as a backdrop for everything from classic Westerns to HBO’s Westworld.
  • Reyes Adobe Historical Site: A restored adobe home built in the mid-1800s that offers tours and events, providing a look into California’s rancho era.

Entertainment & Dining

  • The Canyon Club: A premier live music venue that attracts major national touring acts, ranging from rock legends to top-tier tribute bands.
  • Whizin Market Square: A hip, revitalized shopping center featuring artisanal foods, boutique shops, and local favorites like Tifa Chocolate & Gelato and Blue Table.
  • Old Place Restaurant: Located in the nearby historic community of Cornell, this rustic, legendary eatery is famous for its wood-fired steaks and "Old West" atmosphere.
