Discover Simi Valley
Simi Valley, located just east of Moorpark and north of Thousand Oaks, is a city defined by its presidential legacy, cinematic history, and rugged mountain landscapes. It is consistently ranked as one of the safest cities in America.
Major Landmarks & Culture
- Ronald Reagan Presidential Library: Perched on a hilltop with stunning views, this is the city's most famous attraction. You can walk through the actual Air Force One aircraft, see a piece of the Berlin Wall, and visit a full-scale replica of the Oval Office.
- Strathearn Historical Park & Museum: A 6-acre "living history" site that preserves Simi Valley’s pioneer roots. It features restored buildings including an 1890s Victorian house, a general store, and the city’s original library.
- Skateboarding Hall of Fame: A must-visit for sports fans, this museum houses thousands of vintage skateboards and memorabilia, charting the sport's evolution from the 1960s to today.
- Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center: Housed in a historic 1920s neo-Gothic building, this intimate venue hosts professional theater, concerts, and art exhibits.
Outdoor & Cinematic History
- Corriganville Park: Formerly a premier "movie ranch" owned by actor Ray "Crash" Corrigan, this park was the filming site for over 3,500 movies and TV shows (like The Lone Ranger). Today, you can hike past the concrete ruins of old film sets.
- Mount McCoy: Famous for the large white cross at its summit, this moderate hike offers the best 360-degree panoramic views of the entire Simi Valley and the surrounding Santa Susana Mountains.
- Grandma Prisbrey’s Bottle Village: A unique folk-art landmark built entirely out of recycled glass bottles and salvaged materials. It is a California Historical Landmark and one of the few remaining examples of 20th-century "visionary environments."
Shopping & Community
- Simi Valley Town Center: An upscale, open-air shopping mall featuring a fire pit, water fountains, and a variety of dining and retail options.
- Simi Hills Golf Course: Widely regarded as one of the best public golf courses in Southern California, known for its challenging layout and scenic views.
